Old style ridge system

Can I convert my old roof to dry ridge?

The easy answer is yes. If you would like to convert your old ridge tiles to a dry ridge system, it’s a much more simple process than you would believe.

Also, should you ever require a new roof, this Dry Ridge System can literally be unscrewed, then re-attached after the new roof is replaced. This saves you on the cost of a new roof as you already own and have paid for the Dry Ridge System which would be deducted from your new roof quotation.

How do I know whether it is required?

  • Wind has damaged your roof
  • Your roof is leaking
  • Spend time maintaining your roof
  • Loose or unsafe ridge tiles

Benefits of a Dry Ridge System over a Wet Ridge System:

  • Maintenance free for up to an estimated 50 years if installed by accredited contractors using the premium-grade systems.
  • Cost, as there will be no failed mortar and consequential repointing work required ever again.
  • Flexibility, as unlike wet-ridge systems, dry ridge systems can cope with land movement, as they are far less rigid.
  • Ventilation can be the main cause of internal condensation, a dry ridge system is designed to ensure your roof can breathe, which eliminates any condensation issues associated with a wet-ridge system.
  • Wind factors, unlike a wet-ridge system and the risk of ridge tiles becoming dislodged and potentially dangerous, a dry-ridge system has passed tests of up to 100mph winds and rain.
  • Aesthetically pleasing due to the fact, the full ridge and hip system is consistently flush, unlike most mortar-based alternatives.
